Miss Charming™ will be attending New York City’s first ever multi-day event celebrating the history, contemporary culture, and artful craft of the cocktail.  Part festival, part fête, part conference, part cocktail party, the Manhattan Cocktail Classic brings together the unparalleled talents and opportunities of the bars, bartenders, and restaurants of our great city for five days of activities, both educational and celebratory in nature, championing the common ideals of authenticity, equality, sustainability, service, and pleasure.  (There will be some drinking involved, too.)

The Gala Friday night from 9-til Miss Charming will be attending the kick-off event called, The Gala. The Gala promises to be a fairly rollicking good time for all cocktail enthusiasts, professionals, and persons neither enthusiastic nor professional but possessing at least a begrudging appreciation for a good stiff drink now and again. It takes place at the New York Public Library and will have some of the world's greatest mixologists shaking up dozen upon dozens of different cocktails, world-renowned chefs creating elaborate food pairing dishes, live musical performances and there might be wild and/or slightly scandalous performance art as well as some unexpected twists and turns along the way through this wacky little party spanning four stories and two city blocks of space.

Doc is widely recognized as one of the premier bar magicians of our time. He has lectured on the subject to magicians all over the US as well as Australia, Canada, England, Scotland, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway and most recently Japan. Dean Serneels Dean Serneels – Flairco's Mad Mixologist Flairco's Mad Mixologist, Dean Serneels is the inventor of the Flairco Brand of bar products and training DVD's. He is also a professional magician and award winning flair bartender that has shared his creativity and knowledge with literally 1000's of bartenders from around the world. Serneels has appeared on National Commercials, the Food Network Challenge and on CMT's Search for the Ultimate Coyote. As an award winning cocktail designer Serneels is often called upon to create cocktail menus and train bartenders in the art of presenting professional cocktails along with elements of entertainment. Cheryl Charming Cheryl Charming aka Miss Charming from www.misscharming.com was Walt Disney World's bar trick/magic instructor for Disney's mandatory hospitality class, Quest for the Best. This position lead to her first published book by Random House, Miss Charming's Book of Bar Amusements, which contains 80 of the 1000 bar magic tricks from her collection. Alan Leonhard Author of the book, New Orleans Goes to the Movies and native of New Orleans, has been a movie buff all of his adult life. He is a retired professor of political science at the University of New Orleans, holds undergraduate degrees from Tulane University and a PhD from Duke University. He and his wife Ann are tour guides in New Orleans, and Alan lectures frequently on local historical topics. I will be at Quest, The original International Flair Bartending Competition on November 18th, It's held at Groove Nightclub, Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida.

On September 22nd I will be moving from Orlando to Indian Rocks Beach. Other beaches next to me are Clearwater, Belleair, Maderia, Treasure Island, and St. Pete. If you are in this area then lemme know! Miss Charming will visiting the great Northwest from September 9th-21st, so if you live in any of the areas above let her know! So far she plans to visit family, Ryan Magarian, Jeffrey Morgenthaler, and Paul Harrington. She may visit Robert Hess in Seattle if time allows. King Creole was Elvis' last B&W film and is considered by critics to be his best. Elvis plays a nightclub busboy turned nightclub singer and even though there are many bar scenes not one single cocktail is mentioned.so we will be serving famous New Orleans cocktails including the Sazerac, Hurricane, Scarlet O'Hara, Ramos Gin Fizz, and French 75.
