  • Robert Hess says:

    I suppose the solution here is to identify what “Disney” is thinking of when they say you can’t serve drinks before, during, or after, the film… and how far you can stretch things to satisfy “them” while at the same time satisfying your audience.

    One way to do this would be to hold “Two” events “almost” at the sametime.

    First, separate from the movie, and in a different room, you would hold a “Cocktails of the 80’s” panel, where you would serve some drinks from the time, refering perhaps to the movie “Cocktail” as the inspiration for choosing the particular cocktails you were serving.

    This panel would end, and the audience would be free to leave… and perhaps go next door where the movie “Cocktail” was being shown… and hotel regulations would allow them to take drinks in if they wished.

    :->

  • I think Robert is on to something here, and hopefully the law team at Disney doesn’t read your blog. But if the bar with seperate focus was set up in one room, the movie shown in another, and guests are free to roam…. you have fulfilled your copyright restriction. You are not serving drinks, before, during or after the movie. There happens to be a bar next door, and Tales go’ers wander in.

    If that seems too risky, surely there is SOMEONE you know at Disney that could help you get around this.

    Good Luck!

  • By the way. That bottle of Jim Beam you mentioned Tom Cruise holds during the Last BArman Poet poem is behind Cruise in almost every scene with him that he is behind the wood.

  • Jim Walker says:

    Yep,
    Chris has it…Bar next door & 3 or 4 Intermissions during movie for Bathroom & Cigs…Oh look a Bar I think I’ll have a quick Beam & Coke…Oh movie starting again…Can I get that to go?…
    Not serving in movie!

  • Lauren Clark says:

    If Disney lawyers show up at Tales to enforce their idiotic demand, then Cheryl, you’ll know you have arrived!

    Not that I’m impressed a lot, but this is a lot more than I expected for when I stumpled upon a link on Furl telling that the info is awesome. Thanks.
